This training was originally sponsored by Exxon Mobil for both their internal global negotiations and client service personnel and has since been modified for multi-industry international usage.

  1. Greetings - what to know that builds immediate rapport without the risk of alienation.

  2. Communications model - knowing the form of acceptable communication bespoke to 27 different cultures. (You choose which)

  3. Schedules and Time - its relevance and importance or lack thereof.

  4. Work and personal ethic - understanding how these differences must be accommodated.

  5. Business format - how business is acceptably conducted dependent upon region.

  6. Negotiating sensitivities - what’s good for the goose is not always good for the gander.

  7. Taboos - what will get you in real trouble if not known.

  8. Gender guidelines - how your acceptable standards may differ from others.

  9. Dining guidelines - successfully building rapport outside the workplace.

  10. Religion - do’s and don’ts.
