Toni Louw on Business Communications
Toni Louw, CEO of Louws Group and world-renowned executive business coach and trainer, being interviewed by Leo Bottary, Opinion Columnist/External Advisory Board member for CEOWORLD Magazine, instructor for Rutgers University and award-winning author and keynote speaker.
Toni first met Leo as his student in a Louws Winning the Business© training workshop while Leo was in the employ of William Cook Public Relations in the early 90’s.
In 2006, while Leo was Senior VP PR Corporate practice at Hill & Knowlton, he wrote an article and said, “Toni Louw, who for my money is the world's best presentation coach, told me a story about a time when he was a young man. After delivering a speech in South Africa where Toni was dripping with sweat from nervousness, he was approached by a man as he was walking off the stage. The man looked at him and said, "Nice speech, just don't be so selfish next time." Toni understood exactly what he meant. Most of us are nervous because we care more about how we're going to be perceived than we do about our audience.”
In 2019, in an AMA article “What high performance teams look like” Leo talks about how “illustrate, don’t explain” was a key principle taught him by Toni, a principle even more relevant in today’s business communications than ever.
The skills and techniques Toni discusses with Leo are upgraded and contemporary extensions of those he has taught Leo and over 150,000 other students for 4 decades in 26 countries, 100 cities on 5 continents.
